TAFP Alamo Chapter
"I had an amazing time being able to go to the January 23rd TAFP meeting. It was nice to be able to communicate with Family Medicine doctors and residents in the San Antonio area outside of a clinical setting. The ability to have these events allows students to get to know local leaders in the community and have more, in-depth conversations about the vast field of family medicine. As this was my first time attending, I can honestly say it will not be my last. I am already looking forward to meeting more fellow students, residents, and physicians next month."

"I had the opportunity to participate in an event that brought together family medicine doctors, residents, and students like myself for an enriching and insightful conversation about the journey, challenges, and diverse forthcomings of being a Family Medicine doctor. I left the event with a deeper understanding of the multifaceted nature of family medicine and a newfound appreciation for the dedicated professionals shaping the field. Kudos to the organizers and professionals for creating such a valuable opportunity"

"The TAFP Alamo Chapter Cocktail Hour and Monthly Meeting was a great opportunity to meet local physicians, residents, and medical students. As a first-generation medical student, this experience was very meaningful because I learned about family medicine residency programs and the different fellowships that family medicine has to offer. I genuinely believe that these events will benefit me in the future when applying for residency and building relationships with other health professionals."

"I greatly enjoyed attending the Alamo chapter meeting and felt that it was an amazing opportunity for students to create valuable mentorship relations with family medicine physicians. I look forward to attending more meetings, where I can continue to learn more about the future of family medicine and various ways to emphasize holistic, compassionate care in the practice."

"As a first-generation student pursuing a career in medicine, it is often difficult and nerve-wracking to network and find mentorship. The Alamo Chapter TAFP Dinner was such an enjoyable way to meet and learn from local family medicine physicians and helped to solidify my passion for primary care. Additionally, it was pleasant to hear about other interested students’ perspectives, passions, and questions in the field."
